Last week we had an 1.5 hour powerhouse presentation with Edmonton photographer Robert Bray.
If you joined us you know what I’m talking about. If you didn’t, the highlights and member replay link is below.
Rob showed us pics of his reception area and sales room. If you ever need to know and see how it’s done, this is it!
Notes and highlights:
*minimum 30 inch high quality images, all canvas, most framed, nicely decored in the studio reception and sales room (you gotta see his place!)
*Rob shares the session of the queen, how much he got paid, the challenges and how a media induced fiasco was dodged and converted to a positive
*He sells “Art” pieces only
*Rob prints on an Epson 8400 and has the canvases stretched locally
He uses Kyla Renee to created the painted effect
*“If you don’t work at marketing everyday you won’t get clients.”
*Rob showed us the invitation he created to get clients in the door for a book project we was involved in. Initial mailing, NOT email, was a huge success with 18 out of 19 saying yes! That’s a huge response. You’ll see why once you see the mailer
*“All clients know is they want pictures and their neighbor got digital files. The consultation sets the pace and the client becomes the architect of the photo shoot. Clothing, location of session and possible location to hang the final art pieces is discussed in the consultation.”
*Be the 10%. There is a race to the bottom and 90% are basing their marketing on price ONLY. Don’t be that photographer.
*Emulate the best
