Metamorphosis is the word that comes to mind. John attended an 8 day silent retreat to meditate on his situation brought about by some bad financial decisions, debt and whether to ‘throw in the towel’ with his photography business.
The answer came to him. Stay in the biz. I personally have had similar events in my life, just not as intense as John’s.
John came back renewed and fired up. And things are working out.
He admits…“I did everything wrong.” It takes courage to admit that. And we can all learn.
I recall years ago, when Success Magazine was published, (I was an avid subscriber) one of my favorite issues was the comeback stories, where they would highlight stories where business owners would lose everything, and make a complete comeback.
To me that is inspiring and the lessons are powerful for everyone with an open mind and eagerness to learn.
John reached the point in his life where:
- “The last thing I wanted to be was a photographer…”
- “I did everything wrong…”
- “Nobody cares….”
- He was “hurt by this business”
- “You are what you eat…”
- “You stopped caring about your clients….” John was told by a leading marketing guru
“I did nothing but complain when I prayed….” John realized he needed to make a serious change. Or give up completely.
And his struggle and pain became the door way to his current success.
He morphed. The whole story and replay is HERE for members who were not in attendance.
This was an open to all event. Only members have access to replays.
I have several images from members and non-members and I’ll be assessing, work flowing and sharing ideas.
Yours in success and photography,
Robert Provencher
