“Obsession isn’t just a mental game either; it’s a total game involving the physical, spiritual, emotional, familial and financial. You have to be in great shape in every respect to play this game and stay in it, because the evil forces of average, entitlement, normalcy, and complacency are working against you.”
~Grant Cardone– ‘Be Obsessed Or Be Average‘~
I used to be deathly afraid of flying. To me, every time I flew, I knew and was convinced the plane was going down.
Every noise, everything sudden shift and every possible worse case scenario played on me and my over active hyper-driven imagination.
Now it’s different. Completely.
I am amazed at the fact that we can defy gravity and lift so much weight into the air.
When I fly now, I marvel at the miracle of flight. In awe. I got used to it, and, I’ve resigned to that fact that whatever will be, will be.
I worry more about delays and missed connecting flights than anything else.
That, and making sure I have enough videos to watch on my tablet. I get bored.
In business it’s the same. At first, it’s very scary. For most, it’s something we’re not used to. We have certain ideas what to expect. But reality rules and if we digress from the true path to success, destiny nudges us back.
If we’re smart, we take those cues, and learn. If we’re not, we crash and burn. And risk becoming bitter.
Smart business owners learn from mistakes. And, like flying, we can do one of two things…:
- get used to it, enjoy the ride
- get on the plane
In other words, don’t not fly because of the fear of flying. It’s a thing like everything else. You get used to it. Yes, that includes success.
The one thing you have to watch out for in success is taking it for granted. Like a plane on auto-pilot, you eventually have to take control. Especially in bad weather.
I always said, and still believe this axiom to this day: “Being in business is the best self-help program out there.”
You’ll learn more about yourself, and discover your biggest and best potential.
One thing I discovered along my journey is the power of the mastermind and having mentors. We need a team.
You can’t fly a plane alone. Even when you fly solo, you need to talk with others on the ground, your mechanics, in the flight tower, the weather people etc etc. You get my point.
It’s never truly a solo flight. Nor is it in business.
We need others. I learned this decades ago. And use it to my advantage and to help me grow as a person and in business.
One of my favorites is Maria. And last week I had her on a Marketing Mastermind presentation. She shared more strategies on business building and her main superpower, selling.
I invited everyone to this life event, but the replay is available, as usual, for members HERE
Also, mark your calendars…on July 11, 2018 at 8:00PM EST I am having another monthly marketing mastermind with yet another one of my favorite people, Hark….who’s been growing his photography business by leaps and bounds and will be updating us.
I always noticed certain common traits with those who seem to succeed in business.
They have a fire, a passion. They don’t over think, but think they do.
They learn from mistakes and keep going. They love being independent. They have a realistic and healthy outlook on life, and take it one day at a time.
But they have a big picture plan. Let me help you make your plan. Join us…
