Cameras can’t find light direction. Only you can decide how to place light, decide on direction, intensity and your final creation.
Light is light. Composition is composition. It all starts and end with your and your ability to see light.
One of the best things you can do is master the art of learning to see light, knowing how it will affect your image, the texture, the shapes and lines…all in harmony.
There is a technical side to this. And a soulful, heart felt creative side.
But you cannot master the heartfelt until you master the technical.
There are no shortcuts, and this is NOT something you are “born with”….yea, yea, you may have a “predisposition” for the art and craft of photography…
BUT, you need to put yourself in the right circumstances to wake up the DNA that lives inside you, dormant, latent, asleep like a bear in winter waiting for spring so it can come out of it’s long, slow slumber….
Don’t let your skills live in a state of hibernation, shrouded
by a blanket of ego and pride.
Photography is NOT easy.
No easier than mastering the viola, sailing, wood carving or candle making. Master your craft…always.
Never ever stop…this is a for-life thing…
Take everyday a day to learn. Even if you’re reading ONE page from a book, or watching 20 minutes from an educational video.
Always be learning.
Yours in photography and success
