How do we limit our sales through inadequate pricing or poor sales methods?

How do we limit our sales through inadequate pricing or poor sales methods?

Most limitations start inside. To achieve external success, start inside. Then, flow outward with creative, effective and real money making strategies on pricing and sales.

Pricing, sales and marketing is not black and white. It’s complex, and requires the right tools, the right strategies and the right person.

I believe Warne Noyce is such a person.

Frontline with John Butler

January 7, 2020 By Robert Provencher Leave a Comment

I’ve known John a long time. He’s been a member of NoBs Photo Success as long. He’s attended many of my live marketing events.

He, and his wife are go-getters. My kind of people. The struggles, the successes, the experiences and ideas…all genuine and real.

John offered to run a Frontline, you know, share his story, expertise, wisdom and business savvy with us.

I chatted with John for a bit yesterday. I asked if he and his wife run their studios full time. You know, not one with a great career, the other playing photographer.

And yes, they do. In a small town no less. My kind of people.

See the light….Don’t let your skills live in a state of hibernation

December 6, 2019 By Robert Provencher Leave a Comment

Cameras can’t find light direction. Only you can decide how to place light, decide on direction, intensity  and your final creation.

Light is light. Composition is composition. It all starts and end with your and your ability to see light.

Why shoot-and-burn photography still rules…. or is it our imaginations?

November 5, 2019 By Robert Provencher Leave a Comment

Some like to hang onto excuses. The biggest one of the last 15 years (to explain lack of sales and profits) is the whole shoot-and-burn phenom.

High end art and low end volume…the opportunities exist at the extremes.

August 7, 2019 By Robert Provencher Leave a Comment

The photography industry has been going through some big changes in the last few decades. We’ve gone from mainstream to extremes.

Let me explain.

The power of positive thinking…

June 28, 2019 By Robert Provencher Leave a Comment

It’s getting bad out there. But it’s been getting bad since, hmmm, 2001 when I first went digital.

I’m sure they thought the same thing when 35MM entered the scene way, way back. Fearing these new cameras would forever change their industry. Which it did.

Or back, way back, when electronic flashes replaced gun powder as a better, safer, lighting source for photographers.

Everything changes. We all know that.

There is a malaise, a complacency. Everywhere….

June 26, 2019 By Robert Provencher Leave a Comment

So, I’m reading this book:
“The Complacent Class: The Self-Defeating Quest for the American Dream”

By Tyler Cowen

It explains what we all know. There is a malaise, a complacency. Everywhere….

Maybe it’s because life is too good, or cultural shifts, or laziness or a mix of all these forces and more.

Who knows. But I am curious. Why? The more I understand, the more I can move in the right direction.

For example: We can all agree that complacency has permeated the entire photography industry.  Not everyone, obviously, but generally speaking.

Why else would so many be happy with cell phone pics?

I see opportunity. Do you?

Opportunity to avoid complacency in our photography skills, and push ourselves to excellence.

Opportunity to avoid complacency in our photography marketing skills, and push our business to better results, sales and profits.

It’s why I created so many programs, including one of my favorites: Fuzzy Duenkel’s “Transcend the ordinary” Lighting program. A  four part series from one of my favorite lighting and posing experts.

Few are his equal.

We don’t have to fall into complacency. There is opportunity, if we decide to find it.
