There are two questions we need to ask:
1- What’s going on?
2- How much do I care about what’s going on? Should it matter to me and my life, my goals, my quest?
Sounds selfish and narrow minded. I know. But the truth is I can’t make the world, or my world, a better place until I look at myself and make it a better place.
If there are catastrophic changes going on and if the changes creates a new paradigm, I need to know this.
Right? Start there. Reality. And sooner is better.
I’m not saying we’re doomed. What I am saying is let’s imagine worst case scenario and ask: “In this event, what could I, or what should I do?”
This reflects what Napoleon Hill advises when he talks about the principle behind accurate thinking.
Overall I am optimistic. Overall. With a sharp eye on possible destructive outcomes.
In case.
Since day one I’ve held close to my heart the relationship I have with my clients. It is to me the most valuable asset I have in my photography business.
It will often get us through just about anything.
We built our photography business on families, weddings and babies/children.
Each area has required change, adaption and innovation in order to stay relevant.
Weddings evolved to pop up weddings. Children portraits evolved to fairies, knights and other themed promotions which have been hugely popular and successful for us.
For families, one area that required little promotions and effort on our part is the legacy family portrait. Such as when they call on us every year, or every five years, and invest in an updated family portrait.
We do a lot of these. Our clients know who to go to. We’ve been photographing many families since their now older, often adult age kids were in diapers. I’m like family.
In this video I explain one such of many I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this summer. It’s been busy, and we’re excited that business hasn’t really slowed down much since the lockdown.
I have more to come, for now enjoy. It’s over here for members.
