One BIG lesson I got from the marketing mastermind with John Ratchford a few days ago was the idea that we as photographers in business need to innovate, create and adapt.
John had been on his game when it comes to keeping his studio running at full power.
We’ve done the same with fairy portraits in our studio. Last weekend we drove 6 hours out of town and photographed 23 fairy sessions. Sales are brisk. (Over $14,000.00 so far). Everyone bought reprints, albums and canvas wall portraits.
The fact is, they LOVE these images.
You might say that nothing much as changed. We’re still shooting child portraits. BUT, re-invented. An old concept with a new twist.
And the proof is in the balance sheet. Parents, grandparents, kids…they LOVE these sessions. And they show us their love with their wallets.
One aspect to doing this properly and keeping your sanity is the workflow. I do ALL my own workflow and have a system that is smooth, fast and efficient. I created a 22 minute video for members, along with photoshop actions and templates.
These sessions have been a proven, lucrative, scalable and consistent marketing innovation in our studio. They’re lots of work, with many moving parts, but so worth it. In the last 6 years we started taking these on the road and have consistently had positive and profitable results.
This is universal. Consistent. Profitable. More to come on our next marketing mastermind.
