The blinders effect: “we can do no wrong, everything is fine”…

March 22, 2021 By Robert Provencher Leave a Comment

It’s easy to fool ourselves. The ego is a powerful force and can lead us down our path of destruction laden with excuses. Often this is fueled by having an excess of cash or business success.

Yes, cash. We keep throwing money at our business. This is like giving heroin to an addict. Eventually however it stops working.

Success can also be misleading. When things are going swimmingly, we can easily be misguided and not see how quickly things can change. I call this having blinders on. Our success can over blow our egos.

Anytime you have a successful business, it’s valuable to remain sober and objective.

Why  are clients coming to you? Are others going to out innovate and create serious competition? Can you innovate and re-invent?

Staying on top of the marketing game and constant improvement, creation and innovation in your marketing is essential to remain successful.

To think you can do no wrong is a huge mistake. Stay modest, stay open and stay relevant.

We’ll be doing a deep dive into this topic on Wednesday,
March 24th at 1:00PM EST in our weekly Photo Buzz.

Yours in success in photography,

Reality sucks. Or does it?

If you’re smart about it, you can see things for what they are, and learn. Grow. Prosper.

And be accurate in your thinking. Or struggle endlessly trying to grow your business. Never really knowing why the crowds never show up to buy your thing.

Let me explain.
